Trip to Europe

I just received one of my tickets to Europe at the end of May. I leave Washington DC on May 20 and will meet a friend, Taehee, who lives in London. I will stay with her a few days and then meet another friend from Korea, Chungsun. Chungsun Enlgish tutors some children in Korea and will bring some of the children with her. I think the childrens ages are around 10-13 years old. I meet Chungsun and the group on May 23. I will then travel with them. We stay in London to about May 26 and then go to Paris. Then around May 29 we will take an over night train to Rome. On June 2, Chungsun and the group will leave to return to Seoul. I will return to London and meet Taehee again. Then I will return to back home on June 10. For the most part with the group, Chungsun has everything planned out. So for the most part, I will just be taggin-along with them:-)

I am very excited about this trip. This will be the first time I get to see Taehee. I first meet her on ICQ around mid-December 2001. At that time she lived and worked in Seoul. Where she worked at she was able to come online almost everyday and we would talk almost every night for 1-3 hours. Late February 2003, Taehee moved to London to go to an English school there. From then on we started to stay in touch through e-mail and the ocassional phone call.

We planned during the past winter break for me to come to London, but it was hard to find a place for me to stay and at that time where she lived she could not have overnight guests. Our plans did not materialize:-( I made a promise to her that I would try to come visit her sometime this year.

In March, my friend Chungsun e-mailed me to tell me about the trip she was planning in late May and invited me to join them. At first I did not think I could, because of the expense. She e-mailed me a few days afterward saying she had talked to the families of the children she tutors about me, and they wanted me to go on the trip and agreed to pay some of my expense. I was very surprised and touched by this. I am still debating about a gift to send each of the families as thank you gift, I think I have a few ideas. After Chungsun told me about this I started to think and plan for the trip.

Since Taehee lived in London, I was hoping maybe I could meet her for a little while, but we would have to work around the schedule Chungsun had made for the group to arrive in London on May 23 and leave Rome on June 2. I was going to fly over about a week in advance before Chungsun to spend sometime with Taehee, but she was unable to get off of work that week, but could get off of work in June. So I checked on a ticket from Rome to London and the price was not bad, around $200. So I talked to Taehee and decided I would travel back to London after I leave Rome and stay for 8 days with her. We plan to go outside of London while I am there. She mentioned about wanted to go to Cambridge so we may go there and visit and also visiting a wax museum in London, but I am not sure of the name right now. This trip will be a of fun and I am so much looking forward to this trip.

I will probably take a lot of pictures and post them on my website. I still have somethings to do before the trip, which I will do in between and after finals. I got one of my tickets so for from Rome to London. I am still waiting on my ticket from here to London. I hope I get it very soon. I am excited just thinking about this trip:-)
