Sorry about the NFL Picks, but two of my teams won

My Monday night pick:
Indianapolis Colts to be beat the New England Patriots 28-20.

I was lazy and did not get a chance to post my NFL picks. Not a great week this week, I missed three picks. The games I missed on were the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings, and the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns.

The Bears won a very ugly game in New Orleans so I am very happy about as we are now 5-3 at the middle of the season. I thought we may find a way to lose that game, but Benson and AP both had nice games filling in for Thomas. The offense stepped up on the last drive for a late field goal that allowed The Bears pulled off the victory. Next week it is back to Chicago to face the Niners. Should be a good game as Niners played the Giants tough. Hopefully, the Bears do not come out flat as they did against the Saints or we will be in trouble.

On to real football. Manchester United won a big match over Chelsea. I did not get a chance to watch that game, truthfully, I forgot about as I was in a rush Sunday morning. I heard about the match last night when I was watching the Bears game (I was watching the game on Skysports out of England) and they mentioned the Manchester United match. Chelsea was on a crazy 40 match unbeaten run (they had not lose in the Premiership for over a year!!!), but that all ended in Old Trafford yesterday and Manchester United won 1-0. Darren Fletcher scored the goal to win the game in the 31st minute.

Sorry about not posting my picks this weekend, but it was a great weekend in sports

New Blog- FM Stories.

I started a new blog located on the right called my FM 2006 Story. I play a PC game a lot, called Football Manager. I am coaching a small team in Brazil, CFZ Brasilia. This blog will follow my triumphs and trails at this club. I have to catch up on the game now. As, I have almost finished my first season at the club. I have had a good season, leading my group in my league by 3 points over two teams with one game to go.

What I plan to do is after every game post about the game, my thought, my tactics I used for the game. Important parts of the game. Maybe post some screenshot and some in game video (if I can figure out how to do this). You can sit back and follow each game.

For more information on this game go http://www.footballmanager.net

Not bad.

Not a bad weekend in football picks. Last weekend I went 12-2, missing both the Buccaneers -49'ers and the Jaguars-Rams' games. Also I came very close to getting the exact score in some games. I was pretty happy at the end of last week with my picks. I will be adding my picks latter tonight on this site.

Waiting until the last minute

I am always waiting until the last minute to do anything. So, this weekend, I have to write a 20 page paper this weekend. This includes also doing research for the paper as I have not done enough research. The paper is due on Tuesday, tonight is Saturday night so I have about 2 days to write this. I have some Red Bull in the refriderator as I will stay up most of tonight and most of tomorrow night trying to finish this paper. Luckily this is not a for a final grade. I get a chance to redo the paper next month. Hopefully, by then I can get out of the habit if waiting till the last minute.

My Summer Plans

Big summer planned. I plan to get married on July 15:-) I have known Katia for about 1 and half years now. She lives in Brasilia, Brazil. I visited her for almost 3 weeks earlier this year (all the pictures are in my photos section to the right) and she is also in the photo to the right. I had a great time when I was with her. She is a great person, and I think she is very beautiful. I think I am a very lucky guy.

I sent her all my documents needed about two weeks ago. When she went to get them translated to Portuguese, and the translator found some problems. He is helping me correct the documents through e-mail and I hope I can send her the corrected documents soon. The only problem is I have to start over getting the documents notarized, signed by the secretary of the Commonwealth, and then legalize the documents with the embassy here in Washington DC. After I do all this, I can send the documents to Katia. She has to get both of our documents translated (she is originally from Peru, but her documents are already translated). Then she will submit them get a marriage certificate in Brasilia. I will then go to Brasilia and we will get married there, probably a very small civil ceremony. We will probably have two more ceremonies, one in Peru for her family and friends and also in the US.

We are still unsure about our honeymoon, maybe Buenos Aires. I think she wants to go to Europe, but we may not have enough time to get her a visa to some European counties. So we will probably go to some places in South America. Truthfully, I be happy to be with her, location not as important.

Unfortunately, Katia will have to stay in Brazil and I will return to the US after we marry. Both of us need to finish up our classes in university. We both finish latter this year. She will move here (Nothern Virginia) maybe late this year or early next year.

Although I only have one thing planned, I think it is a big summer for me.

All my final grades

This is an update about my final grades as I got them over about a week ago. Spanish C+, Economics C, Russian Revolution A-, and history of technology A-. Only one more semester left, I hope.

Final Grades (minus 1)

I just checked on my final grades for university and I am very happy. I thought I failed one class, economics. Somehow, I got a C in this class. I have no idea how this happened, but I am not asking questions now. I am happy I passed the class. Also I got a c+ in Spanish, and an A- in history of the Russian Revolution. I am very happy with these grades, especially when after mid-terms, I thought I could fail two of my classes. Before I took the finals, I thought I would fail economics. Still waiting for one more grade, maybe I will get it tomorrow.

News on Football Manager 2006

SI Games on Monday, released some news about Football Manager 2006 coming out sometime this Fall/Winter. It looks great!! Some of the new features I like are half-time talks (I am playing the current game wondering how I will use this feature) and manager contracts. The video is also great. Although I have seen it several times, I still watch it when I want a good laugh. Looks like another great game coming from SI Games.

New life to this Blog

As you can see, it has been over a year since I last posted. Just an update I did go to Europe last year andhad a great time. The pictures can be found in my fotos to the right.

I have changed the focus of this blog. It will focus on 4 different things. My opinion about news that interests me, stories about my Football Manager 2005 game and the game in general, my fantasy sport teams, and information about what is happening in my life.

I have 3 finals on Thursday and need desperately to study for them. But on Friday, I will have this blog up and running with new content. First with personal news as I am getting married next month, then a story covering my career in Football Manager managing a small team in Brazil, then the struggle to pull my last place fantasy baseball team out of the basement.
